MISSION

The mission of Medical Education Resources Unlimited (MERU) is to support collaborative sustainable capacity-building global health programs and projects of an educational nature  through administrative support, educational material, website development and fundraising activities in order to improve the health of children in resource-limited settings.

​MERU is a not-for-profit Corporation, organized in the state of Connecticut with IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation.

VISSION
We envision supporting multiple capacity-building global health care projects and programs which share our values but do not individually have the administrative infrastructure, website development tools or fundraising capacity to achieve their educational goals.

VALUES

  • Because insufficient resources exist for providing medical education in resource-limited settings, and one of the insufficient resources is high-quality teaching material on topics necessary for an educational curriculum, we believe that there is great value in creating and sharing high-quality training material in an organized and thoughtful manner.
  • We look to support local clinician-educators who do not have the resources or time to develop high-quality teaching material by creating a library of easily utilized web-based material that can be used in a variety of ways to meet local goals.
  • We believe that an interactive web-based modular model, first demonstrated via the PCCiRLS Project, can help to achieve the goals of local clinician-educators in providing high-quality health care training to local providers. 
  • Pediatric physicians and nurses from around the world can improve bed-side patient care in RLS by creating and sharing educational material which includes pre-recorded video lectures and live remote interactive sessions where topic material is discussed in local context.
  • We believe that clinician-educators in RLS can utilize the approach first modeled by the PCCiRLS Project to improve the training of their local staff on a variety of medical topics.
  • Medical Education Resources Unlimited can support the further development of PCCiRLS and other web-based modular topical education projects through administrative support, website development and fundraising.
